  • Founder Amy Weaver designs timeless interiors that reflect a client’s lifestyle and needs. She has been recognized for her eclectic mix of found and newly designed pieces, and for making both a formal space inviting and a casual space practical.

  • When Amy Weaver first laid eyes on this Napa Valley home, she was struck by its feel. “While not new construction,” Weaver points out,“the home exudes a contemporary vibe. The former owner hadfilled it with avant garde art pieces. My goal was to make it livable, functional, and beautiful, and also to stay true to its artisan roots

  • Making the Cut - Cowboy Heaven Comes to Earth on a Santa Ynez Horse Ranch

To further the warmth factor, the owner turned to Amy Weaver, of the Weaver Design Group in Marin County, who followed her client’s penchant for opulence by selecting silk-velvet draperies, antique Persian rugs, English and Italian antiques, and custom chandeliers and fireplace surrounds.

He wanted more of a European feel, more sophisticated than a traditional rancht,” Weaver says,”I followed his lead. We brought a city look to the ranch without being too precious.

Resident niceties include a 10,000-bottle wine cellar and a swimming pool designed with input from children, teenagers among them, who requested permanent boulders (Dan, a competitive swimmer prefers laps).”

  • How to Use Antiques in the Modern Home

An English Baroque gilt wood mirror from Antique & Art Exchange hangs on a magenta wall in Amy Weaver’s vignette.

The Barbara Barry dressing table is covered in Éittis wallpaper and accessorized with a Chinese painted pottery figure of a standing lady from the Han Dynasty.

Weaver flanked a Lucite table with a pair of gilded armchairs.

Grounding the space is a black and white stripped rug.

  • This is not your typical Napa Valley guest room” says San Francisco interior designer Amy Weaver.

Sited in a pavilion off of the main house in a beautiful St. Helena vineyard, this outdoor haven is the perfect place for guests to enjoy a late-afternoon respite. Billowing draperies (made from sheer Perennials outdoor fabric) frame the scenery, and when the sun sets, glowing candles illuminate the niches.

A local artisan handcrafted the custom hanging bed, which is upholstered in a Janus et Cie stripe. Muses Weaver, “It’s the perfect daytime and nighttime oasis for your favorite guest.

  • Amy Weaver’s history speaks to an inherent love of design. Interested in drawing, painting and an array of other creative pursuits. Weaver has been involved in the world of residential design ever since, going on 25 years.

Speaking to what she most loves about her field, Weaver points to the opportunity to travel, the interesting people she meets and learning something new on a daily basis.

Driven to make each client happy and guided by her motto: ‘Your home should be your sanctuary and reflect your personality, not mine’. Weaver advises homeowners to be specific about their intentions.”When you hire someone whose work you love, be specific about how it makes you feel,’ she says. ‘Is it the color, texture or the way they understand scale.

  • Cozy In Chicago

A Windy City Pied-A-Terre Lifts The Spirits of San Francisco Designer Amy Weaver

Though Weaver was intially drawn to Chicago because both her daughter and her sister live there, the charms of the Windy City were quite seductive all on their own.

Chicago has incredible archtitecture, great restaurants and terrific shopping; plus beautiful Lake Michigan is just two blocks away from our apartment.” say Weaver.”It’s an easy city to maneuver.

  • Historical Homestead

Stunning Restoration of Dominican Home Hints of Days Gone By

Weaver kept the exterior true to its heritage, preserving its original windows, painting the shingles a classica shade of smoky gray and the trim in a smart black, and playing up the painted veranda in front.

A garage converted into a pool house/media room was also carefully remodeled to honor the residence’s architecture. Brick-and-bluestone patios wend their way around the house and across the pool terrace and are softened by plantings of Japanese maples, abutillion, camellias and rhodeodendrons.

Inside, Weaver painted the woodwork white for a fresh, light look and laid light-stained, quarter-sawn oak flooring in the formal front rooms and aged pine in the casual family room and kitchen. A thick cream-colored abaca carpet covers the floor upstairs.

  • Timeless in Ross

A 1908 Marin County Home is Updated with Light And Color. But Honed with Ageless Antiques

“I like things that don’t go out of style” says designer Amy Weaver. No surprise then, that the Marin County town of Ross earns a gold star in her book of classics.

Picturesque are the school and town hall, likewise, the diminutive downtown’s butcher, grocer, and post office.

With a style more East Coast than sunny California, Ross’s towering trees and winding roads frame houses of brick, weathered shingles and elegant stucco.

  • On Neutral Ground

Easy-going fabrics and comfortable furnishings give way to organic textures and patterns, bringing california dreaming to the east coast.

Weaver’s first task was establishing an appropriate style and palette. “The architecture was in good shape, but the interiors needed revamping,” notes the designer. “The owners liked warmer tones, something unexpected that was a departure from South Florida’s quintessential pinks and greens.” To that end, she laid a neutral base of taupes, whites, grays and browns, and then popped in some saffron and orange for color.

Working from her home base in San Francisco, Weaver plotted finishes and developed design boards and computerized floor plans to determine where all of the furnishings would go. Some pieces were designed by Weaver herself, while others were sourced from California in order to foster a more West Coast vibe.

  • A Fresh Start - San Francisco Designer Amy Weaver Creates a Calming Haven for Her Mother’s New Home

Although this was Weaver’s first time working with her mother the process was very smooth. They were both excited and involved but were willing to hold back when necessary.”My mother was very involved with the furniture and fabric selection and she was really excited to see how it would all come together” says Weaver.”However, she definitely let me make the final choices—which was great but a challenge since our taste is different in many areas.”

Overall, Weaver’s streamlined style and carefully chosen pieces resulted in a home that is contemporary and clean but stil on the transitional side. Product was chosen in a classic contemporary style—beautifully made pieces that would never date the apartment’s interior.
